I have now been a caregiver for seven years. 2018 is almost here and will mark the start of my 8th year. During this period of time, I have met, become friends with and worked alongside a wide variety of other family caregivers, cna’s and nurses. Among them all, I have found that there are a number of common attributes that are present among the best of them. While I can modestly lay claim to 2 or 3 of these qualities for myself, first being compassionate, When I first started my journey in being a caregiver. I learned and grew in being adaptive, and selfless. I was shown how to be observant, with a centering of empathy for others hurts or joys. My best moments in caregiving is the companionship, along with many precious moments of laughter and loving memories that allowed a bonding of not earning just a title of caregiver but friend. I look forward to being able to share my experiences, and enjoy the time with your loved one while growing new friendships, and being able to extend a helping hand From the comfort of their home while sharing my experiences in Alzheimer’s and Dementia, from working in a Hospital inviorment, to memory care helping with independently living, and home care hospice, or just everyday assistant living needs with a smile.
